"What the Construction Council is aiming to achieve through the Building Minds Conference is give employers and operations managers an introduction to mental health support resources. Most of us are not mental health professionals but thankfully we all know people! West Michigan has some amazing experts from workplace experts to faith-based therapists." - Meg Mathis, Dan Vos Construction

This conference is being held by the Construction Careers Council in honor of Construction Suicide Prevention Week, and National Suicide Prevention Month. Construction Suicide Prevention week is dedicated to raising awareness about the higher-than-average number of suicides in the construction industry, and to providing resources to help prevent those deaths. Every year during this time the construction industry works to raise awareness about the unique challenges workers face, and what can be done to help save lives.

Our goal is to establish a recurring event in West Michigan that empowers construction employers with resources to evaluate and improve their internal policies and procedures regarding mental health and suicide prevention.
